Phagwara: 15 students from Staffordshire University, UK participated in the month-long ‘Study India Program (SIP)’ at Lovely Professional University (LPU). The exchange program successfully facilitated a rich cultural exchange between the UK and India, as it provided a unique opportunity to the visiting students to learn about distinctive aspects of India and LPU, as well as develop an appreciation for Indian culture. Students had the opportunity to participate in various interactive activities and learning organized by LPU. She attended classes on Hindi language, Indian cooking, dance, crafts, politics, sociology and yoga. Workshops on block and foil printing, fabric identification, dyeing, dyeing and a fashion week were also organised. Moreover, students got a chance to experience Holi, Baisakhi, Eid, Ram Navami and other Indian festivals.
As part of the valedictory programme, the International Affairs Division of LPU organized a fashion show where students from the UK displayed a range of traditional Indian attire.
