14 accused arrested in Gujarat University answer sheet scandal

Ahmedabad, 31 January (HIST). Police has got a big success in the case of forgery of answer sheets from the assessment room of Gujarat University. Police have arrested 14 accused. All of them are nursing students of Gujarat University, who had contacted the accused and taken money from them for writing the answer sheets outside the assessment room. The main accused Sunny Chaudhary and Amit Singh have already been arrested.

On July 11, 2023, a complaint of missing answer sheet from the Assessment Center of Gujarat University was lodged at the University Police Station. Four months ago, the police arrested the main accused in the case, Sunny Choudhary and Amit Singh. In the same case, other 14 accused Darshit Patel, Smit Parjati, Yagnik Berdia, Meet Desai, Shea Patel, Henin Kumar, Kiran Solanki, Fateh Ali, Sahil Dalal, Nahil Dalal, Vihar, Asif, Digvijay Thakor have been arrested.

During interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that the main accused, Sunny and Amit, used to get the students to make hash marks with pencils. To identify the paper, students were asked to put Swastika mark on the front of the answer sheet. The main accused used to call the students near Juna Vadaj bus stand at night, from where their mobiles were switched off and they were blindfolded and taken to some house. Papers were written here.

The accused used to contact the students through social media. Sunny and Amit used to give the list of students to the peon at the assessment centre. Who, after receiving the list, used to give the answer sheets of the students who had been dealt with. Later the answer sheet was made to be written. Sunny and Amit kept 80 percent of the total amount received for setting the answer sheet, the remaining amount was given to 3 agents.

The university had withheld the results

During interrogation of the main accused, it was revealed that in 3 years he had taken money from 59 students and got their papers written at different places. Later, when the university came to know about this matter, it stopped the results of 16 out of 59 students of the last semester who had paid money to pass. Most of these 16 students included nursing and physiotherapy students.
