13 Dead, 30+ Injured in Bus-Lorry-Pickup Collision

Patna: A bus, a lorry and a pickup van collided. 13 people died in this accident. More than 30 people were injured. The injured are being treated in hospitals. (Road Accident) This incident took place in Katihar district of Bihar. A serious road accident took place on National Highway 31 in Kodha block at around 6.30 pm on Saturday. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot as soon as they were informed about the accident. They took up rescue operations along with the locals. The injured are being shifted to hospitals and are receiving treatment. The police suspect that the accident occurred due to the bus driver losing control of the vehicle.

On the other hand, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar expressed deep grief over the accident. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 each to the injured. He directed the officials to ensure that the injured get better treatment.
