11 thieves arrested, diesel worth Rs. 2.5 lakh seized

Korba. The Dipka police station of the district has arrested 11 people while busting a gang stealing diesel in SECL’s Gevra mine. After the complaint of the mine’s security inspector, the police took action and caught 11 thieves. Along with this, the police have seized 2659 liters of diesel from the possession of the thieves, which is said to be worth Rs 2,48,456.

Gevra mine security inspector Nandlal Rai had given a written complaint to the Dipka police, in which it was told that he had received information from the informer that some suspicious people were stealing diesel in Bolero vehicles. Acting on this information, security personnel Rakesh Kumar Singh and Sudhir Kumar reached the spot. There they saw that diesel was scattered near the dozer and dumper, which indicated theft.

Crores of rupees have been spent for security in Gevra mine and apart from CCL security personnel, employees of private company have also been deployed. Despite this, incidents of diesel theft are not stopping.
