Maharashtra: A serious road accident took place in Maharashtra. 11 people were killed and several others were injured when an Eco van carrying passengers collided with an oncoming cement mixer vehicle. The incident took place on Monday morning at Raita Bridge near Govili village on Kalyan-Murbad National Highway 61 in Thane district. The Eco van was going from Kalyan to Murbad with some passengers at 10.45 am.
In this sequence, a cement mixer coming from the opposite direction hit the vehicle at high speed. In this incident, five passengers died on the spot. The other six lost their lives while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Many more were injured. Locals and officials who received the news of the incident took up rescue operations. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. Officials said that the condition of some of them is critical. The deceased include three women and eight men. Two of them are college students. The scenes at the scene of the incident are heartbreaking.
Two vehicles crashed into each other. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. Meanwhile, seven people were killed in another road accident in Gujarat. A truck lost control and ran over pilgrims walking on the side of the road. Seven people died on the spot in this incident.
