Odisha: At least ten school students were injured when a van crashed near Nalugunda on Chandbali-Bhadrak Road in Bhadrak on Friday. According to reports, the van, carrying ten students of Utkalamani Gopabandhu Vidyamandir, was returning after dropping the students to their homes. As it approached Nalugunda on Chandbali-Bhadrak Road, the driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle and later fell into a pond on the roadside. The students in the van escaped unhurt, but some of them were seriously injured. Hearing the cries of the students, locals rushed to the spot, rescued the students and admitted them to Chandbali Government Hospital and Tihidi Government Hospital. Some were shifted to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Locals alleged that the accident occurred due to negligent driving of the driver, also alleging that the van did not have a fitness certificate.
