Bengaluru (IANS) | A shuttle bus at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore rammed into a pole on Sunday. 10 people were injured in this accident. A child is also included in the injured. The bus was carrying 17 passengers and was plying between two terminals. There is no news of any casualty in this accident which took place at around 5 am. There were also two members of the cabin crew in the bus.
The passengers with minor injuries were taken to the hospital for treatment. The Karnataka Police has registered a case and started investigation into the accident. Police is probing if the bus driver had dozed off when the bus hit the pole, or there was some other reason.
Shuttle buses connect T1 to the newly launched T2 terminal, less than a kilometer away. Most domestic airlines operate from the new terminal. Commuters rely on a shuttle bus service to reach T2.
The Bangalore Airport Authority is planning to shift all international operations to the new terminal, while the old terminal will handle domestic flights.
