Youth killed by throwing him in a liquor furnace, people sit on dharna in police station

Ramgarh: Sensation has spread due to the incident of killing a youth by allegedly throwing him in a liquor furnace in Kuju OP area under Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. The name of the deceased youth is Pintu Karmali. A large number of local villagers along with his family are sitting on a dharna near the police station demanding the arrest and imprisonment of the accused. Police have detained two accused, who are being questioned.

The deceased’s wife Sajani Devi has said in a written application to the police that her husband has been killed by Bhola Sahu and Rajkumar Mehta by burning him in a liquor furnace. It has been told that Rajkumar Mehta and Bhola Sahu together run an illegal liquor furnace in Kuju Basti. Pintu Karmali used to work in this furnace. On July 9, Bhola Sahu called Pintu Karmali on phone and called him to the liquor furnace. Later, news spread in the area that Pintu’s body was thrown near Vikas Public School. Many parts of his hands, legs, stomach and chest were burnt.

After getting the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. Pintu’s family is adamant on the demand to arrest the accused and send them to jail. They say that until the police do not do so, they will not cremate the body. The family says that Pintu was killed by burning him in the furnace and after that an attempt was made to dispose of the body. Pintu’s mobile was also found with liquor distillery operator Rajkumar Mehta. Police say that the matter is under investigation. The accused will be sent to jail.
