Yet another cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal, rain in Odisha likely
Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation over lies over Gangetic West Bengal, adjoining areas of Jharkhand and North Odisha and extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. Rain is likely in Odisha.
Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over the same area during next 24 hours. The Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Ganganagar, Pilani, Agra, Churk, Ranchi, Digha and thence southeastwards to East-central Bay of Bengal.
Southwest monsoon has been active over the state. Widespread light to moderate rainfall with Extremely Heavy falls at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack And Nayagarh and Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Nawarangpur, Bolangir, Boudh, Bargarh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput Of Odisha.
Under the influence above mentioned low pressure area, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph very likely over Northwest adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha coast during 15th July to 16th July, 2024. Fishermen are advised to not to venture into sea area off south Odisha coast, Northwest adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal during 15th and 16th July, 2024.
