XLRI receives global award
XLRI Jamshedpur has won the EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) Global 2022 edition of the case writing competition award.
The B-school had submitted a case from the XLRICase Research and Simulation Development Center (XL-CRSDC) — TruKKer: The Uberization of Trucking in MENA Region — written by faculty members Trilochan Tripathy and Benudhar Sahu and it won the award in the “Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Business Cases” category.
The award was announced on Thursday night.
“The case is about TruKKer, a UAE-based start-up founded by Gaurav Biswas to offer tech-driven organised logistics services in the fragmented land freight market in the MENA region. It discusses how end-to-end digitisation and artificial intelligence and machine learning tools spurred TruKKer’s growth, innovation, and competitive advantage in the MENA region.
“It offers detailed insights into TruKKer’s innovation-led land freight solutions and its mission to optimise logistics and fleet management in the land freight market,” said a media release issued by the B-school on Friday.
“TruKKer’s home-base competitive advantage in the MENA region intertwined with an asset-light business model, technology, and third-party logistics solutions created value for diverse stakeholders, which could be the subject matter of discussion in the strategic management curriculum of MBA and EMBA programme,” added the release.
XL-CRSDC associate dean Trilochan Tripathy said: “Winning this global case writing award would promote the brand XLRI and connect XL-CRSDC to business schools across the world and Global Case Community. By winning this award, we are among the best business schools worldwide.”
“This award would motivate us at XL-CRSDC to undertake similar endeavours in the future,” said XL-CRSDC manager Benudhar Sahu.
