Workshop of Sarpanch and Secretaries organized for preparation of quality GPDP

Mahasamund. With the aim of empowering and developing Gram Panchayats, the Piramal Foundation team organized a one-day workshop in the auditorium of the Janpad Panchayat Mahasamund on Friday. Sarpanchs and secretaries from 20 selected Gram Panchayats of the Mahasamund block participated in the workshop.
The primary objective of the workshop was to prepare a quality Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) according to the Panchayat Development Index for the upcoming Gram Sabha. During the training, participants were informed about forming a Gram Panchayat Planning and Facilitation Team and preparing a plan based on the actual needs of the Panchayat.
Emphasis was placed on prioritizing the nine themes of LSDG by Panchayats, engaging with women’s groups, forming youth clubs, motivating women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and ensuring the participation of all Panchayat institutions. The workshop emphasized empowering and developing Panchayats by incorporating issues such as primary education, health, nutrition, and women’s empowerment into the Gram Panchayat Development Plan.
