Work together to build an ideal and strong India with diversity: Governor Harichandan

Raipur: The foundation day of the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Goa was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Raj Bhavan today. On this occasion, Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan said that our resolution should be that everyone should work together to build an ideal and strong India with its diversity.

Raipur Raj Bhawan This ceremony was organized at the Raj Bhavan under the “Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat” program of the Central Government. In which people from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Goa residing in Chhattisgarh participated. On this occasion, the Governor said that the diversity of our country can be seen in the food, clothing, traditions, customs and rituals here. The diversity of languages ​​spoken in different regions of India is a proof of the rich cultural heritage of the country.

Governor Harichandan underlined the characteristics of these different states. He said that Rajasthan, known as the “land of kings”, has preserved the stories of Indian valour and cultural glory with its royal history, grand forts and palaces. Rajasthan’s handicrafts as well as traditional and colourful saga art attract people from all over the world. The Marwari community has made an unprecedented contribution in the field of commerce and trade in all the states of the country including Chhattisgarh.

Referring to the characteristics of Maharashtra, the Governor said that this is the work place of the great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who forced the powerful Mughals to kneel with his valour, Sant Namdev, Sant Tukaram, Samarth Ramdas, the pioneer of the Bhakti movement, Sai Baba of Shirdi who fulfilled the wishes of devotees. Lord Vitthal’s city Pandharpur is also located here. Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar, Ghrishneshwar and the historic Ajanta Ellora caves, which are among the 12 Jyotirlingas of the country, located in the state, are famous all over the world. This state is the largest contributor to India’s economy with a share of 14 percent in India’s GDP.

The Governor said that the land of Bengal is of great saints like Sant Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda. Without the contribution of the revolutionaries and social reformers of Bengal, the independence and reconstruction of the country could not be imagined. The contribution of Subhash Chandra Bose in the freedom struggle cannot be forgotten. This land is of immortal freedom fighters. Who sacrificed their lives for the country. Nobel Prize winner Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, author of great literature like “Gitanjali”, was a son of this state, who came to Pendra city of Chhattisgarh in the year 1918 for the treatment of his wife. Here he wrote his famous poem.

The Governor underlined the natural beauty, vibrant culture, architecture and qualities of the residents of the states of Himachal Pradesh and Goa and said that these states, with their unique heritage, distinct cultures, have contributed greatly in establishing India as a rich, diverse and a strong nation.

On this occasion, former MP Sunil Soni, representative of Rajasthani community, Vivek Acharya, Director of Archeology and Culture Department, representative of Himachal Pradesh, Ritesh Tarun Chatterjee, representative of Bengali community and Ajay Madhukar Kale, representative of Maharashtrian community, gave information about the achievements and specialties of their respective states. They said that now Chhattisgarh is their home.

In the program, students of various universities presented folk dances decorated with various colors of these states including Koli, Baul, Dhunuchi folk dance. The Governor honored the representatives of all the states by making them wear the state towel and presenting a memento. Shri Harichandan was also honored by the representatives of these states by presenting a memento. The vote of thanks was given by the Deputy Secretary of the Governor, Mrs. Hina Animesh Netam. Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Yashwant Kumar, representatives of various states, youth, women were present in large numbers in the program.
