Work for the development of OBC and minorities: Ramvichar Netam
Raipur. Tribal, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and Minority Minister Ramvichar Netam reviewed the progress of departmental schemes by holding a meeting of senior officials in the National Tribal Research Institute assembly hall located at Atal Nagar, Nava Raipur on Wednesday. He said in the meeting that under tribal development, work should be done in such a way that Chhattisgarh gets a distinct identity in the country and the world. Work should be done with sensitivity for the social, economic and cultural development of tribal, scheduled caste, other backward classes and minority communities. There should be an environment of education along with cleanliness in all ashrams and hostels. Along with education, work should be done to bring out sports talents. He instructed the officials to set up a gym in the ashram-hostel premises from the point of view of healthy body and healthy mind of the students. Senior officials of the department including Secretary D.D. Singh and Commissioner Smt. Shammi Abidi were present in the meeting. Minister Netam also visited the research center and library. Was greatly impressed by the collection of books based on tribal art, culture and traditions stored in the library. Minister Netam said in the review meeting that the children of Ashram hostel are also like your children. It should be ensured that work is done with urgency for their better future.
Along with completing the schemes run by the department, he also stressed on bringing the department into the excellent category through new projects. He said that whatever problems and problems arise in the department, they will be resolved together. There will be no shortage of funds to fulfill the objectives of the department. The state government will work towards promoting the children of these sections by providing all possible help. Minister Netam said in the meeting that the students of the state who are preparing for civil services by staying in youth hostels located in Delhi. For this, an action plan should be prepared to increase the number of seats. He said that an action plan should also be prepared for building new hostels around the coaching center as per requirement. He also instructed the officials to open a center for Civil Services Competitive Examination in Bilaspur. Minister Netam also stressed on making a concrete action plan for the development of the protected tribes of the state, Baiga, Kamar, Birhor, Pahari Korwa, Pando, Abujhmad. He said that complaints are being received regarding forest rights certificates in various areas of Bastar and Surguja divisions. In order to ensure that all eligible people get Forest Rights Letters, brochures and pamphlets containing information about rules and procedures should be distributed and pasted at the district level, block level and gram panchayat level. On this occasion, he inspected the ‘Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Museum-cum-Memorial’ campus being prepared in the Research Center premises through a PPT presentation.
