Women set an example to save the forest from the flames
Raipur. Now we will extinguish the fire of the forests… This is the saying of the women of Jai Maa Sharda Mahila Self-Help Group under Beltara Circle wearing green saree as a symbol of greenery protecting the forest from the flames. Realizing the importance of the forest, these women themselves came forward to save it from fire and are playing equal participation with the forest workers by giving their contribution free of cost. Significantly, it is very important to protect forests from fire. According to the forest department, the fire season has started from February 15 and it is the priority of the department to save forests from fire till June 15. In this context, awareness campaign is also being run by the Forest Department to save forests from fire. Impressed by the awareness campaign being carried out to the villagers, the women of Jai Maa Sharda Women’s Group under Van Mandal Bilaspur themselves came forward and presented their proposal to the Forest Department to save the forest from the flames.
Looking at the keenness and awareness of women, Divisional Forest Officer Bilaspur Mr. Kumar Nishant directed his subordinate forest employees that women who have come forward for this special work should be trained and encouraged to extinguish forest fires. Go As a symbol of greenery, these women have been given costumes of green sarees by the Forest Department and were also trained in controlling forest fires with fire blower machines. Free work is being done by rural women to save the forest from fire. Forest workers also accompany them in this work.
