Woman smuggling ganja worth lakhs arrested

Raipur. The police have arrested a woman and a youth involved in illegal business. The team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a person has kept illegal drug Ganja in his house in Satnami Para, village Sankara under Dharsiwa police station area. Under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Chowki Siltara Police went to the said place and conducted a raid in the house mentioned by the informer.

During the raid, a person was present in the house who during interrogation revealed his name to be Loknath Naurange. When the team members searched the room, it was found that the drug marijuana was kept in the room. On which the team members arrested the accused Loknath Naurange and seized 01 kg 100 grams of ganja worth approximately Rs 20,000 from his possession and action was taken against the accused under Section 20B Narcotic Act in Dharsiwa police station.

Similarly, under the leadership of police station in-charge Dharsimwa and outpost in-charge Siltara, outpost Siltara police team arrested the female accused Meenakshi Sahu in her hotel located in village Tanda under police station Dharsimwa area and seized 1 kg 130 grams of intoxicant ganja and about Rs 20,000 from her possession. Action was taken against the accused under Section 20B Narcotic Act at Dharsiwa police station. At present, the police have arrested both the accused, Loknath Naurange, 26 years old, village Sankara Satnami Para police station Dharsimwa and Meenakshi Sahu, 50 years old, resident of village Tanda police station Dharsimwa Raipur and sent them on judicial remand.
