Woman poisons husband & in-laws; 1 dead, another critical

Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly added poison to the food of her in-laws due to a family dispute in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district. Due to consuming poisonous food, the woman’s mother-in-law died and her husband is critical. The incident has come to the fore from Rashol village under Rashol police limits of the district.

The deceased has been identified as Sulochana Sara and the accused’s husband has been identified as Jayanta Sara.

According to sources, Jayant got married to Truptimayee for the second time less than 3 months ago. On Thursday night, following a family dispute, Truptimayee added poison to the food. After eating the poisoned food, Sulochana died, while Jayant’s health condition got critical.

Jayant and Sulochana were immediately rushed to Rashol Hospital. The doctors declared Sulochana brought dead, while Jayant is undergoing treatment. Jayant’s father was left unhurt, as he didn’t consume the food.

Following the incident, the family lodged a complaint with the police station.

On being informed, the police reached the spot, seized the body, and sent it for autopsy. The cops have detained the accused daughter-in-law and are investigating.
