Woman murdered in Sultanpur, UP

Sultanpur: A woman was allegedly murdered by an unidentified assailant by slitting her throat while she was sleeping in the courtyard of her house on Thursday morning, police said. The incident took place in Maganganj village under Gosaiganj police station area. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Arun Chandra said the victim, Zarina (45), was found dead by her family members. “It appears she was attacked with an axe. It is suspected that one of her family members killed her,” ASP Chandra said. The matter is being investigated and the body has been sent for post-mortem, he said. According to Zarina’s family members, she was sleeping in the courtyard of her house and they found her decapitated body on Thursday morning.
