Woman Kills Daughter In Law Over Dead Sons Government Job In Maharashtras Thane

Mumbai: The mother of the deceased son committed atrocities for the gratuity money and a government job. She murdered her daughter-in-law along with another man. She dumped her body somewhere. The daughter-in-law filed a complaint with the police that she was missing. The police who investigated arrested the aunt and her friend who helped her. (Woman Kills Daughter-In-Law) The incident took place in Thane district of Maharashtra. On January 1, the police received information that a woman was lying with serious injuries on her head and face near the Waldhuni bridge in Kalyan area. They reached there. When the woman was taken to the hospital, the doctors declared her dead. The police initially registered a case of accidental death. The woman’s body was taken to a government hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, 60-year-old aunt Latabai filed a complaint at the local police station the next day that her daughter-in-law, 35-year-old Rupali, had been missing since morning. She identified the body found near the Waldhuni bridge as that of her daughter-in-law Rupali. This raised suspicions about the aunt’s behavior. When she was questioned, she revealed the reason for her daughter-in-law’s murder.
On the other hand, Latabai’s son Vilas was a railway employee. He died in September 2025. In this context, daughter-in-law Rupali received a gratuity of about Rs. 10 lakh. However, Latabai’s aunt demanded that Rupali give the money to her. She also opposed her daughter-in-law’s application for her son’s government job. She insisted that her 15-year-old grandson be appointed on compassionate grounds.
However, when daughter-in-law Rupali did not agree, her aunt Latabai planned to kill her. On the night of December 31, she and her 67-year-old friend Jagadish Mahadev Matre hit Rupali on the head with an iron rod and killed her. They changed her blood-stained clothes. Then they dumped Rupali’s body near a bridge.
