Woman farmer adopted organic farming, path to success became easy
Dantewada. In Dantewada district, situated in the lap of nature, farming has been practiced naturally. Currently, farming is done by the farmers in the district through spraying method. But for some time now, the use of some chemical fertilizers by farmers is also being seen in many areas. In order to prevent the adverse effects of the use of chemical fertilizers and to promote organic farming, under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, Bihan, the women farmers of the mission are being taught the virtues of farming through scientific method for the last 04 years. In the same sequence, the district More than 80 Krishi Mitras working in 03 development blocks Dantewada, Geedam and Kuakonda, associated with the Community Based Sustainable Agriculture Sub-Plan of the Ministry of Agriculture, are being trained by the master trainers of the Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, KVK and Bihan Yojana regarding natural farming. .
The livelihood team from the District Mission Management Unit said that consumption of vegetables grown using chemical fertilizers has many side effects in the human body. Since Dantewada district is moving towards becoming a completely organic district, efforts are being made under the mission that Every woman farmer of the district should adopt natural farming. Along with this, information on soil management is also being given in the said training so that the farmers can further increase the fertility of their soil and increase their income by getting good yield from their crops. Natural farming is the demand of changing times today. This is why farmers practicing natural farming are reaching new heights of success and have become a source of inspiration for the farmers around them.
