Patna (IANS) | A woman has been arrested after she allegedly killed her two daughters in Bihar’s Vaishali district. The police gave this information on Saturday. Woman Rinku Devi has accepted the crime of killing her 18 and 16 year old daughters. The woman says that her daughters often used to go away with some youths.

Rinku Devi said in her confessional statement, I first killed the elder daughter, then killed the younger daughter. Both often eloped with the youths. She had eloped with two youths 15 days ago. I put them to death.

Sadar Range Vaishali SDPO Om Prakash said, “When we came to know about the incident in the morning, a team from Sarai police station reached the spot for investigation. On seeing the police, the girl’s father fled from the spot. He lives in Kolkata. We took the girls’ mother into custody for questioning. He has confessed that he killed his daughters.

However, the way she appeared, we doubt whether she actually committed the crime or was trying to save her husband, the police officer said.

SDPO Om Prakash said that on the basis of the confessional statement, we have arrested her and raids are being conducted to nab her husband. Rinku Devi claimed that she was angry with her daughters and hence killed them. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.

Meanwhile, Neeraj Singh, head representative of Sheetal Bhakurahan panchayat, said, Rinku Devi came to my house in the morning and said that her husband had killed her two daughters.
