Who has the upper hand in price, engine and features

Entertainment Entertainment: Mahindra Classic Legend is a direct competitor of Royal Enfield in the Indian market. The brand has recently updated its flagship product Jawa 42. On the other hand, Classic 350 has been updated. Now please explain these two.

Both Jawa 42 and Royal Enfield Bullet 350 use retro design language. However, there are significant differences in the mechanical aspects. Jawa 42 adopts a modern approach, which is evident in the updated 294.72cc liquid-cooled engine. This power plant produces 27 hp and 26.84 Nm of torque and is mated to a classic 6-speed gearbox with an auxiliary clutch and a slipper clutch.

On the other hand, Royal Enfield Bullet 350 was updated last year. The car has a 349cc air and oil-cooled engine that produces a maximum power of 20.2 bhp and a torque of 27 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

One similarity between the Jawa 42 and the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is the use of a traditional double frame. However, there are differences between the two platforms. The Jawa 42 gets a sportier setup with 35mm front forks and dual gas shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is via a 280mm front disc and a 240mm rear wheel, with a choice of single or dual-channel ABS available across the range.

The Royal Enfield Bullet 350, on the other hand, aims to offer a more classic riding experience with 41mm forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. The distance between the two axles is also slightly larger on the RE compared to the Jawa models and ensures a more comfortable seating position.
The updated Jawa 42 is now available at a competitive price. Prices of the models have dropped. The current prices start at Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 17,000 cheaper than before. Meanwhile, the top trim level with dual-channel ABS is currently priced at Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is priced similar to the Jawa. Prices start at Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 2.16 lakh (ex-showroom).
