Ram Mandir, 370, Triple Talaq, CAA, UCC, Waqf… What is Modi government going to do next?

First Ram Mandir, Article 370, Triple Talaq, Citizenship Amendment Act, Uniform Civil Code, Waqf Amendment, now what next?

Before the 2029 general election, the BJP-led central government consolidated its third term by taking important initiatives like Ram Mandir, Article 370, Triple Talaq, Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Uniform Civil Code (UCC), while it has further consolidated its control over the central governance of the country by getting one of its latest initiatives, the Waqf Amendment Bill, passed through the Lok Sabha. These steps of the party…not only satisfied the core supporters of BJP but also turned the country’s politics towards a new philosophy. Now that these big goals have been achieved or strong steps have been taken in their direction, the question arises what will be the next step of the government? And which issue, which issue can it use as a master stroke before the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has worked on its core agenda and finished it. Construction of Ram temple, abolition of Article 370, implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) were the issues included in the core agenda of BJP. The mission of Ram temple has been completed, Article 370 has been abolished from Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, steps like Ram temple, Article 370, triple talaq, Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the recent Waqf Amendment not only satisfied the core supporters of BJP, but also turned the country’s politics towards a new philosophy. Now that these big goals have been achieved or strong steps have been taken in their direction. The question arises what will be the next step? Is BJP now going to work on issues like Mathura-Kashi, population control, population register (NRC)?

In the definition of BJP and RSS, India is a cultural unit where common law and common identity should prevail.

Ram Mandir: By completing the mission of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, BJP has established the side of Hindu pride and cultural renaissance. This was an issue which came true after decades of struggle and communal tension.

Article 370: This was a symbol of complete integration of Kashmir with India, which strengthened the idea of ”one nation, one constitution” of BJP. Jansangh leader Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had propounded this theory long ago.

Triple Talaq and Waqf: These steps point towards a new frontier of secularism, where national laws are more effective than private laws and beliefs.

BJP has described these laws brought for the Muslim society as reform and a law giving rights to women and the poor. After the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Prime Minister Modi pointed towards this side.

He posted on Twitter, “For decades, there was a lack of transparency and accountability in the Waqf system. This was mainly harming the interests of our Muslim mothers and sisters, poor and Pasmanda Muslim brothers and sisters. Now the bill passed by the Parliament will help in increasing transparency as well as protecting the rights of the people.
