Delhi: The weather suddenly changed in Delhi-NCR on Friday night. People had to face a lot of problems due to the dust storm. Especially pedestrians and two-wheeler drivers faced a lot of trouble due to this. Trees were uprooted and fell at many places, causing long traffic jams. There were also complaints of power cuts in many areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain on Saturday and Sunday.

Vehicles were damaged and 9 flights from Delhi had to be diverted to Jaipur. Due to strong winds in the national capital and surrounding areas, the shuttering installed for repair of a building in Sector 58 of Noida collapsed, causing damage to several cars.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a dusty storm on Saturday along with wind blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Also, there are chances of light rain. Due to this the maximum temperature can be 39 degrees Celsius. However, the minimum temperature is also likely to increase and reach 29 degrees Celsius. If it rains, it will be the first western disturbance of May.

During this period, the maximum temperature was 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 27.7 degrees Celsius, three degrees more than normal. According to the Meteorological Department, Narela area was the hottest. The maximum temperature recorded here was 40.9 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded was 40.1 degrees Celsius in Jafarpur, 40.3 in Najafgarh, 39.2 in Pusa, 39.1 degrees Celsius in Sports Complex.
Due to change in wind direction in the capital, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 180 on Friday. According to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), on Friday the wind blew from east to south-east direction at an average speed of 8 to 12 kilometers per hour. At the same time, on Saturday the wind will blow from east to north-east direction. According to CPCB, Faridabad in NCR had the highest AQI of 264 which is in the poor category. AQI was recorded at 178 in Greater Noida, 156 in Noida, 167 in Gurugram and 139 in Ghaziabad.
