We will establish a non-dominant society: CM vows.

Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin emphatically stated that they will establish an egalitarian society without any dominance.

Speaking at a function held at the Anna Centenary Library in Kotturpuram, Chennai, to provide assistance under the Thayumanavar Project, education, self-employment, and government welfare schemes, he said:

Everyone should have access to everything. The goal is to create an egalitarian society where all people live equally. The way to achieve these goals is through governance programs.

That is why we are implementing many social welfare schemes and helping marginalized people move forward. We are implementing many schemes for the development of Adi Dravidars and tribal communities, which are unprecedented in the history of the Dravidian model of governance.

Non-Dominant Egalitarian Society: A legal guarantee for inclusive development has been provided by enacting the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Development Action Plan Act, 2024. This scheme ensures that funds for development projects for Adi Dravidar and tribal communities are allocated proportionally and utilized properly.

From 2021 to 2025, Rs. 87,664 crore has been allocated for the Adi Dravidar Sub-Plan and Rs. 8,078 crore for the Tribal Sub-Plan.

If a society wants to progress, education is its foundation. That is why we are focusing on education through various programs.

Providing special training to students of schools run by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department for national entrance examinations has not only increased the pass percentage but also resulted in 135 students studying in prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs in the 2025-26 academic year.

In the last five years, 385 students have studied in leading universities around the world under the ‘Ambedkar Overseas Scholarship Scheme’.

Scholarships worth Rs. 162.54 crore have been provided to them. In addition, 42 students are pursuing higher education under this scheme. Under the Tholkudi Research Scheme, the first of its kind in the country, scholarships are provided to students conducting research on topics related to tribal communities. Training scholarships are also provided to final-year law students.

To provide skill training and ensure employment for Adi Dravidar and tribal youth, subsidies are provided. Under the “Tholkudi Thoduvanam” scheme, ₹164.51 crore has been disbursed to 8,440 beneficiaries.

We are working hard to ensure that these projects reach the beneficiaries.

We must break down all the barriers that have existed in society for years and move forward. He said that we will finally create the non-discriminatory, egalitarian society that Ambedkar, Periyar, Anna, and Karunanidhi envisioned.

₹265 Crore Welfare Assistance

To restore the livelihoods of poor families, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin distributed ₹265.50 crore in welfare assistance to 9,371 beneficiaries, including the Chief Minister’s Thayumanavar Scheme, Gram Panchayat Awards for social harmony to 10 village panchayats, educational scholarships, and self-employment grants.

He also inaugurated buildings constructed by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department across Tamil Nadu.
