We should be proud of the rich cultural heritage of our country: Governor Harichandan

Raipur. The Foundation Day of the states of Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu was celebrated with colorful cultural programs in the chief hospitality of Governor Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan at Raj Bhavan today. Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan said on the occasion that we should respect the rich cultural heritage of our country and be proud of it.
Under the “Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat” program of the Central Government, all the states celebrate each other’s foundation day to promote the spirit of unity in diversity. In this series, the Foundation Day of Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Raj Bhavan. The Governor congratulated the people of these states on the occasion of Foundation Day.

Governor Harichandan in his address said that sharing the knowledge of language, culture, traditions and practices of different states will increase mutual understanding and bonding, which will strengthen the unity and integrity of India. Our cultural heritage, unique history and food traditions are the basis of our identity, self-respect and prosperity. Foundation Day not only reminds us of the journey of progress of a state, but also provides an opportunity to prepare the way for our future.

The Governor underlined the history, culture, traditions and important characteristics of these states and union territories. Our country is moving forward on the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. Ramrajya has to be established in the country. Prime Minister Shri Modi made a coordinated effort to unite everyone and ensure everyone’s happiness and peace. India has achieved an important position on the world political stage under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. By remembering our culture, tradition and history, he has done the work of establishing India as the best country in the whole world.

The Governor called upon the young generation to work for the deprived and weak people with full enthusiasm and serve the country with full dedication, devotion and honesty.

The program was organized by the Vice Chancellor of Pt. Ravi Shankar University, Prof. as the representative of Uttar Pradesh. Sachchidananda Shukla and Santosh Swarnkar, Dean, OFT University, as the representative of Meghalaya, L, Deputy Commandant CRPF as the representative of Manipur and B, Deputy Commandant CRPF as the representative of Tripura. P. Jamalia Assistant Commandant CRPF also addressed.

On this occasion, students of various universities gave colorful presentations of folk dances of the four states and two union territories including Kathak dance of Uttar Pradesh. The folk dance of CRPF soldiers enthralled the guests. The Governor honored the representatives of these states and union territories by wearing the state scarf and presenting mementos. He also honored the Governor by wearing a shawl.
