We ran an aggressive election campaign, we will win: Deepak Baij

Raipur. The people of the state will vote in favour of the Congress in all the civic elections. State Congress President Deepak Baij said that the Congress party ran its election campaign aggressively in all the municipal corporations, municipalities and Nagar Panchayats of the entire state. All our senior leaders visited all the areas of the state by road and helicopter and went among the people. The entire Congress is fighting the elections strongly unitedly. On the contrary, the ruling BJP looked scattered. Its senior leaders were just doing the formality of election campaign. The people rejected the road show of the Chief Minister in Jagdalpur, Raipur. This election was fought on the failures and broken promises of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in one year. The government has nothing to tell about its achievements. We have a long list of failures of the government to tell the public. In the last 1 year, the BJP government has proved to be a failure on the expectations of the public. Youth, farmers, women, laborers, students, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, people of every category are disappointed with the government. Everyone is feeling cheated by the government.

State Congress President Deepak Baij said that the deteriorating law and order situation is a big issue in this election. The common man is scared of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Every city of the state is unsafe due to murder, robbery, rape, stabbing. State Congress President Deepak Baij said that the youth is angry with the government due to corruption in forest guards, police constables and government jobs and selling of government jobs. OBC people are angry with the government due to the faulty reservation policy in local bodies. Farmers are disappointed due to not getting Rs. 3100 lump sum and increased support price of paddy of Rs. 112, total Rs. 3217. 1 lakh jobs were promised in the assembly elections, 20 thousand jobs were to be given in a year but recruitment was not done in a year. The youth are feeling cheated. 18.5 lakh houses were promised in the assembly, but till now the government has not been able to make any action plan in the matter of providing houses. The homeless are feeling cheated. BJP had promised to give cylinders for Rs. 500, it has been a year and not even a single woman has been given a cylinder. Here too women feel cheated. Houses and shops of the poor are being demolished with bulldozers, BJP’s favourites are occupying government lands. Illegal liquor, ganja, drugs, intoxicants are being sold everywhere under the protection of the government. Patients are not being treated in government hospitals. Medicines and medical testing facilities are not available in hospitals. There is no money to buy chalk and duster in schools.

State Congress President Deepak Baij said that the 30 percent discount given during the Congress government in the guideline rates of land registration has been abolished, due to which the poor’s dream of having a house and plot has been shattered. BJP government is going to stop the registration of small plots of less than 5 decimals. Congress opposes this. We are going to make this an issue in urban bodies and panchayats. Electricity rates were increased 4 times in 1 year, 400 unit discount was unofficially abolished. Sand rates were increased 6 times and cement rates were increased 5 times in 1 year. There is a nexus between BJP leaders and sand mafia, blood is being shed in sand business every day. Modi’s guarantee of regularizing irregular/contractual workers in 100 days has failed. On the contrary, B.Ed teachers, Vidyamitra, Guest teachers were removed. Unemployment allowance stopped, Tendu leaf collector insurance scheme stopped, Kodo, Kutki, Ragi purchase stopped. Social security pension, old age pension, widow pension stopped, eligible beneficiaries are wandering.

State Congress President Deepak Baij said that both the issues and candidates of Congress are strong in this election, we will repeat the record of victory in local elections. Congress will not only repeat its previous victory in these local body elections, this time Congress candidates will win elections in more panchayat and body areas.
