Water is a precious gift of nature and it is our responsibility to protect it

Raipur. Water is a precious gift of nature, which God has given us invaluable, but we have to understand its value. Today the whole world is facing water crisis. Ground water level is falling rapidly in many cities of the country and the world. If we are not alert in time, the water crisis can take a terrible form. We all have to save every drop of water. Water conservation is the responsibility of all of us. Water management is the need of the hour today. We have to pay special attention to the management, conservation of water as well as promotion of water sources for a better life of the coming generations. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the 57th Annual Convention of the Indian Water Works Association.

Chief Minister Sai said that water conservation has become even more important in the context of the global climate crisis. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken important steps towards water and environmental conservation by starting campaigns like Jal Jeevan Mission, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Amrit Sarovar, Mission Amrit and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam for water conservation.

Modi started the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojana to provide clean drinking water to every household. Our government has provided tap connections to provide clean drinking water in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh, due to which the health level of the people has also improved due to the availability of clean water in their homes and there has also been a positive change in the standard of living of the villagers. In the program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai released the souvenir of the Indian Water Association.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, while addressing the program, said that engineers from all over the country, subject experts of water conservation will have in-depth discussions on the subject of water conservation and will contribute in preparing a strategy for water conservation. It is noteworthy that the theme of this convention being organized from 10 to 12 January in the capital Raipur for the second time under the hosting of the Indian Water Association is Water-360 Degree. 400 water experts and experienced engineers of the country are participating in the convention. In the convention, discussions will be held on the inclusion of new technology in water, wastewater treatment and sustainable management.
