Voting machine processing training: District election officials participated.

Tamil Nadu: A training session on the operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices was held in Chennai on Friday.
District Election Officers, District Deputy Election Officers, and supervisors of the primary examination from various districts participated in the training.
The training seminar was conducted under the leadership of Election Commission Deputy Election Commissioner Bhanu Prakash Yeturu and Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik. Election Commission officials stated that Election Commission Secretary Madhusudhanan Gupta, Karnataka State Joint Chief Electoral Officer Raghavendra, and technical experts from Bharat Electronics also participated and explained the functioning of the Electronic Voting Machines and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail devices.
This training was conducted in view of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections next year. Prior to the Assembly elections, the Election Commission is undertaking a special intensive revision of the voter list in Tamil Nadu.
In this context, the Election Commission stated that out of the 6,39,95,854 (99.81%) voter registration forms distributed in Tamil Nadu, 6,29,79,208 (98.23%) forms had been uploaded as of Friday (December 5).
