Viralimalai Mekkannudayal Temple lamp worship: The crowd participated.

Tamil Nadu: The Thiruvilakku Pooja, held on Tuesdays and Fridays during the Margazhi month at the Viralimalai Amman Temple, commenced with auspicious music and devotional songs, with 5,000 women participating in the Kuthu Vilakku Pooja.
The Viralimalai Arulmigu Maikannudaiyal Amman Temple is a renowned place of worship. This Amman temple, considered the guardian deity and family deity of the surrounding people, celebrates several festivals throughout the year with great fervor.
As part of the festivities, the 36th annual Thiruvilakku Pooja, which takes place early in the morning on Tuesdays and Fridays during the Margazhi month, began today (December 16).
This puja will conclude on the first day of the upcoming Thai month. The first of the eight Thiruvilakku Poojas commenced today (Tuesday) with the Gomata Pooja (worship of the cow).
More than 5,000 women participated, singing devotional songs to the Goddess and taking part in the lamp worship.
During the festival days, the Goddess will give darshan to devotees adorned in silver armor. The festival arrangements are being managed by the administrators of the Manikanda Ayyappa Seva Sangam, under the leadership of Gurusamy Sundaram.
