Vinod Soni elected as the Chairman of Bilaspur Corporation

Bilaspur. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councilor Vinod Soni has been elected unopposed as the new Chairman of Municipal Corporation Bilaspur. BJP had already decided his name for the post of Chairman, although its formal announcement was pending. Congress did not field any candidate for this post, due to which Vinod Soni got this post without any contest.
It is worth noting that out of the total 70 wards of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, BJP has councilors in 49 wards, while Congress has 18 councilors and the number of independent councilors is 3. Being already in majority, it was considered certain that BJP would become the Chairman, but Congress also did not field any candidate for this post, which made the election process easier.
After being elected as the new Chairman of the Municipal Corporation, Vinod Soni will soon take charge. Due to BJP’s strong hold in the Municipal Corporation, enthusiasm is being seen among the party supporters. At the same time, there is a discussion in political circles about the strategy of Congress that why it did not field a candidate for this post.
