Sports: Vinesh Phogat CAS hearing decision update – After several days of waiting for justice, the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s final decision on Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s plea against her disqualification from the Paris Olympics is likely to come on August 13. After being disqualified for the gold medal in the 50kg freestyle wrestling event at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday, Phogat had challenged her disqualification at the CAS on Wednesday and announced her retirement on Thursday. Her case at the CAS was represented by senior advocate Harish Salve. According to ANI, the IOA had said in its statement that the CAS decision will come by 6 pm on August 13, 2024. Apart from challenging her disqualification, Phogat has also requested for a joint silver medal in the 50kg wrestling category.
