Villagers refused to participate in voting demanding solution to problems

Khammam: People of Rayamadaram of Enkoor mandal in Khammam and Kanumukula of Pochampalli mandal in Bhongir stayed away from voting for some time, seeking assurance that their problems would be resolved.

Voters protested near a polling booth in Rayamadaram against the government not constructing a bridge over the Nagarjunasagar left canal. He abstained from voting after receiving assurance from the authorities that his demand would be considered.
A group of farmers protested near a polling booth at Kanumukula in Bhongir to highlight their demand for procurement of rain-damaged and discolored paddy. The officials persuaded them to participate in the voting by informing them about the government’s decision to purchase spoiled paddy.
