Villagers protested against the raid by the forest department, teak wood was confiscated

Bijapur. The forest department team in the district raided a village and recovered about 1 truck of teak wood. Now the villagers have come out in protest against this. The villagers blocked the road. However, after the administration’s persuasion, the villagers have opened the blockade.

Actually, this whole matter is of Modakpal village situated on the Bijapur-Bhopalpatnam road. A day earlier, the team of Indravati Tiger Reserve and Forest Division Bijapur raided the entire village. Teak wood, furniture made of teak, door frames and other items were recovered from different houses. However, it is not yet clear how much is the value of the seized teak. After the department’s action, the people of the area were very angry with this action of the administration. Today, on Wednesday, the villagers blocked the Bijapur-Bhopalpatnam main road. Dozens of villagers sat on the road.
