Vikramaditya: Dalhousie-Khajjiar road will be upgraded
Chamba: Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh today said that the road connecting tourist destination Dalhousie to Khajjiar will be improved under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). Also, better parking facilities will be provided in Dalhousie under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Singh was speaking at various programs in Dalhousie and Khajjiar on the first day of his Chamba tour. He directed the Public Works Department (PWD) officials to prepare a detailed project report for the improvement work of Dalhousie-Khajjiar link road. He emphasized that priority is being given to the development of remote and backward areas. He said that Chamba has been classified as an aspirational district and includes two tribal sub-divisions.
Various departmental schemes are being regularly reviewed through virtual medium to ensure completion of projects within the stipulated time with high quality. During the tour, Singh held a meeting with the district officers of Public Works and Urban Development Department in Khajjiar and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officers. He also heard the problems of the local people and directed the departmental officers to solve them. On this occasion, MLA Neeraj Nayyar, former minister Asha Kumari, District Congress Committee Executive President Kamal Thakur, District Youth Congress Committee President Sunabh Singh Pathania, SDM Dalhousie Anil Bhardwaj, Superintending Engineer Public Works Diwakar Singh Pathania, Executive Officer Nagar Parishad Rakhi Kaushal along with various departmental officers and representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions were present.
