US busiest ports see big drop in imports in May

Business Business: US’s busiest ports recorded a huge drop in imports in May. Reasons for this include President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 145% tariff on many goods from China. Cargo imports from China, which is a major goods supplier to the US, saw a 28.5% decline in May.
Ports like Long Beach and Los Angeles in California saw a decline of 20.9% and 8.5% respectively. Meanwhile, the new 30% tariff on imports of Chinese goods has also impacted trade.
