UP: Rice crop destroyed due to flood, still possibility of growing some crop

Rice is grown in most parts of Uttar Pradesh, but this time due to heavy rains and floods, the crops of farmers have been destroyed in many areas. In many places, the entire crop of the farmers was destroyed. Agricultural experts say that the rice crop has been destroyed due to floods and in such a situation, farmers can grow rice again. Some varieties of Basmati rice can still be grown. Agricultural experts of Niyamatpur Krishi Vigyan Kendra said that paddy, which will ripen in less days, can be planted in flood-affected areas. Farmers will also get good profits here. Farmers who have Basmati rice seedlings can grow rice.

The crop will be ready in a few days.

Dr. NC Tripathi said that Basmati rice varieties – PB-1509, PB-1609, PB-1692 and PB-1847 – ripen in 115-120 days. These varieties of Basmati rice can still be planted. Farmers can earn very good profits from these rice varieties which ripen in less days.

Remember this while transplanting

Dr. N.K. Tripathi said that while transplanting these varieties of Basmati rice, one thing should be kept in mind that farmers should transplant them immediately after receiving the plants. Plant only 25-28 days old seedlings of Basmati rice. This will give more buds to the plant and the yield will also be good. A yield of 18 to 20 quintals per hectare can be obtained from these varieties of Basmati rice.
