UP News: Young man killed aunt by crushing her with a grinding stone, arrested

Sultanpur: A 25-year-old man allegedly killed his wife by attacking her with a stone made from a mortar and stabbing her with a knife, police said here on Saturday. The husband of the deceased, who reached her parents’ home after the incident, lodged a case of murder against his nephew Arif in the Kadipur Police Commissionerate, after which the accused was arrested. According to the police, Altaf’s wife Sufeena (30) was alone at home on Friday afternoon when she was stabbed and strangled. Police said that when Altaf reached his house, Sufina was lying dead on the ground soaked in blood. He later said that Arif’s intentions “were not good” towards his wife. When Altaf returned home, his nephew allegedly ran out of the house carrying a knife. Superintendent of Police Somen Birmania said that the woman was murdered on Friday. A case has been registered against Arif on the complaint of the deceased’s husband. Police said the accused were arrested on Friday night and the body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem.
