UP News: Case registered against SP leader on call to ‘burn’ minister’s house

Meerut: Police have arrested a Samajwadi Party leader after he called an Uttar Pradesh minister to come to his house, a police officer said on Sunday. His threat stems from a recent confrontation in which the SP leader said that Dalit corporators from the opposition parties were allegedly attacked at the Meerut Municipal Corporation board meeting. Apart from Bhardwaj, opposition councilors also accused Minister of State for Energy Somendr Tomar of assaulting Dalit councillors. Rashtriya Lok Dal President Jayant Chaudhary met Dalit councilors in Zahidpur on Monday. Before this, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai and Azad Samaj Party National President Chandrashekhar Azad have also visited Dalit councils.
