Union Minister in Arunachal: Center committed to empowering women

Itanagar: Union Minister Darshana Vikram Jardosh on Wednesday said the BJP-led NDA government at the Center is committed to empowering women. Addressing the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Kharsot Gram Panchayat in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles said that the Center has launched many schemes and programs in the country for women empowerment. Highlighting the success of the Jal Jeevan Mission, Jardosh expressed satisfaction over the saturation of the scheme in the border district, an official release here said. “Vikit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has covered more than 150,000 villages in the country,” the minister said. BJP President JP Nadda participated in the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra program in Delhi and interacted with the beneficiaries of the Centre’s schemes. He watched the live interaction between the PM and the beneficiaries along with Meenakshi Lekhi, MP from New Delhi seat. Delhi BJP said Nadda asked beneficiaries about the impact of welfare programs on their lives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and highlighted the progress made in less than 50 days. The Yatra has reached lakhs of villages and 4.5 lakh applications have been received for Ujjwala gas connections. More than one crore Ayushman cards were distributed and health check-up of 1.25 crore persons was done. Rs 7.5 lakh crore given to 10 crore women through self-help groups. The government is working on rural cooperative sector and full implementation of major schemes.
