Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation building: Order to shift the headquarters to another place

Maharashtra: The construction of the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation headquarters building has become extremely dangerous, this came to light in the Thane District Planning Committee meeting held on Wednesday. While ordering the immediate shifting of this building to another place, Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Thane district Eknath Shinde assured in the meeting that the necessary funds for the construction of a new building will be provided through the Urban Development Department. The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation building is two-storeyed and also has a basement. This building is 40 to 45 years old. There are cracks in the pillars of this building and this building has come to the fore to be extremely dangerous. BJP MLA Kumar Ailani raised this issue in the Thane District Planning Committee meeting held on Wednesday and directed to take an immediate decision in this regard.

Officers and employees live in this building. Citizens of the city come here for work. Due to this, four hundred to five hundred people visit the building every day. He also raised the question that if any accident happens then who will be responsible for it. On this, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Awhale clarified that the Municipal Corporation building is extremely dangerous. There are cracks in the pillars of the Municipal Corporation building. A structural investigation of the construction of this building was done. It has become clear that this building is extremely dangerous. Due to this, an alternate place has also been found to shift the offices of the Municipal Corporation headquarters elsewhere, Awhale said. Deputy Chief Minister Shinde ordered the immediate shifting of the headquarters offices to an alternate place and assured that the necessary funds for the new building will be made available in phases through the Urban Development Department.

Actions like issuing notices and registering cases are being taken against illegal schools in Thane district, but still the schools are running, causing harm to the students. MLA Sanjay Kelkar demanded effective action against such schools. Many schools have received letters of intent from the government. However, the proposals are awaiting approval. The building construction does not get a construction completion certificate. Therefore, such schools also come in the list of illegal schools, former minister Ravindra Chavan raised the issue. Schools should be inspected and classified on that. Deputy Chief Minister Shinde directed to take action to close schools not following the rules. He also gave instructions to set up Adarsh ​​​​Vidyalayas and Smart Health Centers in rural areas of Thane district on the lines of Satara and Sangli.

The population of all the cities of Mumbai Metropolitan Region is increasing. These cities are facing the problem of water shortage. Work is underway to find a solution to this problem. Discussions were held regarding Shai, Kalu, Jambhavali, Mumbri, Deharje, Surya, Balganga, Kushavali dams. After supplying water to Mira-Bhayander and Vasai cities from Surya Dam, it has been decided to give excess water from this dam to Thane city. It is necessary to use the water of the sewage project for purposes other than drinking, industry and construction. This should be strictly implemented in the district. Therefore, drinking water can be used only for drinking, said Deputy Chief Minister Shinde.

Forest Minister Ganesh Naik had said at an event in Thane that he would hold a Janata Darbar in Thane city. When reporters asked questions on this, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde responded. When I was the Chief Minister, all ministers, including the then Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, used to meet citizens and talk to them. Ministers of Mahayuti and Shiv Sena have been instructed to meet citizens and listen to them. This government is going to listen to the common man. That is why all ministers are meeting citizens.
