Two youths involved in robbery arrested

Raigarh. Taking immediate action on the report of robbery, Gharghoda police arrested two youths who were involved in snatching on the Chhal-Gharghoda road and sent them on remand. This morning, Ved Prakash Chauhan (age 25), resident of village Kalmi, Kharsia, filed an application at Gharghoda police station and lodged a report of robbery that happened to him on March 01. The reporter told that on February 29, he had come to Gharghoda to meet his friend Pitambar Nishad. The next day on March 01, he was going back to his village from Gharghoda on a motorcycle when at around 6.00 in the morning two youths stopped him near Santosh Dhaba on Chhal Road, Baihamuda, showed him a weapon (knife) and demanded money and ran away after looting Rs. 2,300 kept with him. After the incident, he told his friends and family about the incident.

After consulting family members, he came to the police station to file a report. Police station in-charge Gharghoda Inspector Sharad Chandra registered the crime of robbery and collected information about the miscreant youth of village Baihamuda from the informers and immediately sent his staff to village Baihamuda to trace the accused. The police team detained suspect Jitendra Sahu and his associate Gajendra Sarathi alias Gajju resident Baihamuda and interrogated them strictly in connection with the incident. Both the accused confessed to robbing a young man near Santosh Dhaba on the morning of 01 March – a knife used in the incident was recovered from Jitendra Sahu (aged 19 years) and the looted amount was recovered from accused Gajendra Sarathi alias Gajju (aged 19 years). . In the incident, sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act have been extended and both the accused have been arrested under sections of robbery and Arms Act and sent to jail after remand. Along with TI Gharghoda Sharad Chandra, Sub Inspector Karmu Sai Pankra, Assistant Sub Inspector Wilfred Masih, Constable Deepak Bhagat and Udyo Patel have played an important role in the entire proceedings.
