Two killed, another critical in suspected bomb explosion in Jajpur district

Jajpur: In a tragic incident, at least two persons were killed while another sustained critical injuries following a suspected bomb explosion near Chhatia village of Jajpur district this afternoon.

Sources said that three persons were traveling on two separate two-wheelers, a Bajaj Pulsur and an electric scooty, this afternoon. However, two of them died on the spot while another was critically injured following an explosion when they had reached near Chhatia village.

The explosion was so intense that two of them died on the spot and another sustained critical injuries. Several severed body parts of the trio were found scattered along the spot of the incident.

While it is yet to be ascertained under what circumstances the explosion occurred, the locals from the given circumstances are suspecting that the bikers were carrying a bomb which accidentally exploded killing two of them on the spot and leaving another critically injured.

On being informed, a team of cops from Bairi police station immediately arrived at the spot and rushed the critically injured person to the Barchana Hospital for treatment. They also started an investigation into the matter with the help of a scientific team to ascertain the identities of the deceased and injured persons.

Cops also are trying to find out under what circumstances the tragic mishap occurred and the motive of the bikers carrying the bomb, if any.
