Two drug smugglers arrested with 700 grams of heroin
Ballia: Ballia Police of Uttar Pradesh has taken a major action and arrested two vicious smugglers with 700 grams of heroin. The recovered heroin is valued at Rs 1.40 crore in the international market.
Superintendent of Police Omveer Singh told reporters on Wednesday that Dubhad Police Station caught two drug smugglers. Both are from Bairia area. During the search, 700 grams of heroin was recovered from them. Anil Kumar, who was caught, is related to smugglers from Jharkhand. He has smuggled heroin earlier as well. He had a network at the local level. During interrogation, the accused told that heroin was smuggled to Ballia and then supplied to the districts of Purvanchal as well. Just a few days ago, some people were arrested. The police was working on the same link. The police got success during the investigation.
He told that both these accused have been involved in serious crimes earlier as well. Anil Kumar has been in jail in Shahjahanpur in a murder case. He came in contact with a drug smuggler at the same time. He was involved in this work since then. The Superintendent of Police said that the second accused Mrityunjay Tiwari is a local handler. He has already served life imprisonment in a murder case. There are other cases against him as well. Both have been involved in many criminal incidents. A case has been registered against both of them under various sections and they have been sent to jail.
