Two children died due to drowning in Kozhikode

Two children died after falling into the water while taking a bath in the Arippara Falls at Thiruvambadi in Kerala’s Kozhikode district. The children who died have been identified as Ashwanath Krishna and Abhinav. They were students of class 9th and 8th respectively. They had gone for a picnic in a group of 14 members of family and friends when five people accidentally fell into the water while taking a bath. Three others were rescued by the local people while both the children died. Police said the group of tourists from Kozhikode city had reached Arippara Falls in Tiruvambadi rural area of the district on Sunday afternoon. Suddenly five members of the group started taking bath in the waterfall. They lost control and fell overboard, killing two children. The three people, who were rescued by the local people, have been admitted to Tiruvambadi Taluk Hospital.
