Two arrested in Dadar TT chain snatching case; stolen gold recovered

Maharashtra : The Matunga police have arrested two men in connection with the chain snatching case from a woman walking near Dadar TT. The accused allegedly snatched her mangalsutra and fled from the spot. The arrested accused have been identified as Salim Mateen Syed alias Moosa, 44, and Akbar Ahmed Syed, 45, both residents of Mahim. The police recovered two gold pieces weighing 11.980 grams, believed to have been melted from the stolen mangalsutra and gold chain. According to the police, the incident took place on May 18 at around 9:15 pm, the complainant woman was walking towards Dadar TT on the Tilak Bridge footpath. One of the accused, who was following her, snatched the gold mangalsutra from her neck and fled from the spot.
