Trump-Modi bilateral meeting before G7 lunch, economic cooperation and AI will be discussed

Evian: Donald Trump will hold a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the working lunch during the G7 Summit on Wednesday. The meeting is scheduled ahead of a luncheon with G7 leaders, outreach partners and key technology executives in what is being seen as an important diplomatic dialogue.
In this meeting, many important challenges related to economic development, stability of global supply chain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), investment partnership and global security are likely to be discussed in detail between the two leaders. It is believed that this conversation can be an important step towards further strengthening the strategic and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier on Tuesday, the two leaders had also met during the G7 outreach session held in Evian, France. During this, Prime Minister Modi and President Trump greeted each other and also had a brief conversation. The meeting took place when topics like ‘building new partnerships and reinvigorating international solidarity’ were being discussed ahead of the G7 working session.
Apart from G7 countries, representatives of many partner countries, officials of the World Bank and African Development Bank also participated in this outreach session. Issues related to global economic cooperation, development projects and international financial system were discussed on this forum.
According to sources, Wednesday’s bilateral meeting is being considered very important in terms of the growing strategic relations between the two countries. This is likely to focus particularly on cooperation in the technology sector, safe use of AI, and strengthening global supply chains.
Apart from this, both the leaders can also share their views on global security challenges and changing geopolitical situation. Recent years have seen a steady expansion in the economic and strategic partnership between India and the US, and this meeting is seen as another important step in that direction.
The purpose of such high-level meetings during the G7 Summit is to develop shared understanding on global issues and strengthen international cooperation. This meeting between Trump and Modi is also being considered a part of this broader diplomatic effort.
