Truck loaded with raw sewage is eleventh victim of Smart City!

Heavy vehicles falling victim to Smart City works continued in Panjim, as on Friday, a rear portion of a loaded sewage suction truck got stuck after a road caved in at St Inez and fell on its side.

This was eleventh such incident reported since February 6, 2023 at the stretches where works under the Smart City Mission were carried out and also currently are being undertaken by the government.

The truck loaded with raw sewage was reportedly proceeding from Caculo Mall stretch towards St Inez Church on Friday morning when the incident took place. Raw sewage was transferred into another sewer jetting truck before the fallen truck was removed using a heavy hydraulic crane.

Fortunately, no one was injured, even the driver of the truck escaped unhurt.

Such incidents have taken place at St Inez, near the Government printing press, Azad Maidan and the heritage area of Sao Tome in Panjim. In one of the incidents reported at St Inez, four labourers were injured and they had to be admitted to hospital.
