Tribute to martyrs at Republic Day celebrations in Karsog

Karsog. The 75th Republic Day program was organized with great enthusiasm at Government Senior Secondary School, Karsog, at Sub-Divisional Headquarters, Karsog. Sub-Divisional Officer Citizen Karsog Narendra Singh was present in the program as the chief guest. On this occasion, he hoisted the flag and took the salute of the attractive marchpast presented by Police, Home Guard personnel, NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides and Rangers and Rovers.

On this occasion, the Sub Divisional Officer also visited the Martyr Memorial and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. On this occasion, Chief Guest SDM Karsog Narendra Singh congratulated the people of the state and region on Republic Day.

The chief guest honored the freedom fighters of the area, Gyaharu Ram and Sunder Lal, who contributed towards the independence of the country, by presenting them shawls, caps and mementos. Apart from this, Sumita Devi, wife of Kargil martyr Toydhar of the area, was also honored on this occasion by the administration by gifting her a shawl, cap and memento.

On this occasion, Sub Divisional Officer Citizen Narendra Singh honored Padmashree Award winner Nekram Sharma and President’s Gold Medal winner Mahesh Kumar in the field of agriculture by presenting them shawls, caps and mementos. Colorful cultural programs were also presented by various schools on this occasion.

The Chief Guest also honored various participants of the cultural programs, police presenting the march past, Home Guard jawans, NCC, NSS Rangers and Rovers and various people of the area who have made significant contributions in various fields by presenting mementos. On this occasion, Nagar Panchayat President Savita Gupta, Block Congress Committee President Hariom Sharma, Tehsildar Karsog Kailash Kaundal, officials of various departments, ex-servicemen and other dignitaries were present.
