Tragic accident in Kanpur, constable dies in ambulance stuck in jam, father keeps pleading for help

Kanpur. A young constable who was seriously injured in a road accident in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, died in an ambulance while being taken to Hallett Hospital in Kanpur. After this incident, the family members have made serious allegations, blaming the traffic jam for the death of the constable. The family says that if the injured soldier had been taken to the hospital on time, his life might have been saved. It is alleged that the ambulance got stuck in the traffic jam at Tatmil intersection in Kanpur and it took almost two hours to reach the hospital, about seven kilometers away. However, the traffic police has refuted these allegations and claimed that the ambulance had reached the hospital on time.

The deceased constable has been identified as 22-year-old Pranshu Sachan. He was a resident of Motipur village of Ghatampur police station area of Kanpur and was a constable of the year 2025 batch. Pranshu was posted in Tanda Kotwali of Ambedkarnagar district. His untimely death has created chaos in the family. Due to the death of their young son, the parents and other family members are in distress and crying.

According to the information, Pranshu was going on bike with his father on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a speeding dumper hit his bike near Buxar turn in Kalyanpur police station area of Fatehpur. The collision was so severe that Pranshu fell on the road and the dumper passed over his stomach. He was seriously injured in the accident. Given his condition, immediate treatment was required.

After the accident, the injured constable was taken to the hospital for treatment. In view of his serious condition, he was referred to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Halat Hospital in Kanpur for better treatment. The family hoped that his life would be saved if he got timely treatment in a big hospital, but he died on the way.

Accused of getting stuck in traffic jam at Tatmil intersection

According to family members, when the ambulance reached Kanpur with injured Pranshu, there was a huge traffic jam near Tatmil intersection. The ambulance faced difficulty in moving due to the large number of vehicles parked on the road. The family alleges that the ambulance could not find its way for a long time.

Pranshu’s father says that he kept trying to make way for the ambulance. He requested the drivers and people present at the spot to give way. He was very upset after seeing the serious condition of his son. His entire focus was on somehow getting his son to the hospital as soon as possible.

The family alleges that despite the distance of Hallett Hospital from Tatmil intersection being about seven kilometers, it took almost two hours for the ambulance to reach the hospital. During this period, the condition of the injured soldier continued to deteriorate.

Father kept asking for way with folded hands

The most emotional aspect of the incident was the helplessness of the father of the injured soldier. According to the information, the father kept asking people for help to save his son. He appealed to the drivers stuck in traffic to give way to the ambulance.

Family members allege that despite a lot of efforts, the ambulance could not find its way on time. The son’s condition was becoming increasingly serious before the father’s eyes. By the time the ambulance reached the hospital, Pranshu had stopped breathing.

The family says that if the ambulance had reached the hospital on time, Pranshu’s chances of getting treatment could have increased. However, without medical examination, it cannot be said with certainty that the alleged delay in reaching the hospital was the reason for his death.

Traffic police said the allegations were wrong

On the other hand, Kanpur Traffic Police has denied the allegations of the ambulance being stuck in the jam for a long time. Police say that there was no delay in the ambulance reaching the hospital as the family members are saying.

In this case, there is a clear difference between the claims of the family and the traffic police. On one hand the family members are alleging delay in treatment due to traffic jam, while on the other hand the police say that the ambulance had reached the hospital on time.

In such a situation, the situation will be clear only by the actual travel time of the ambulance, the traffic arrangements on the route and an impartial investigation of the incident. Records of reaching the hospital, details of the movement of the ambulance and footage of CCTV cameras installed on the way can prove important in this case.

Mourning in the family due to the death of young son

The death of Pranshu Sachan has brought a mountain of sorrow on the family. At the age of just 22, he started his future by joining the police service. The family expected that he would advance in the job and take up the responsibilities of the household.

But a road accident took away the happiness of the family. The father is deeply shocked by the death of his young son. The family members say that after the accident they kept trying to save Pranshu, but all their efforts failed.

Questions raised on ensuring passage for emergency vehicles

This incident has raised serious questions regarding the traffic system and emergency medical services of Kanpur. For patients seriously injured in a road accident, every minute is important. In such a situation, it is very important for the ambulance to reach the hospital without any interruption.

According to experts, the sooner a seriously injured patient gets proper medical help after an accident, the better the chances of treatment can be. However, the severity of the patient’s injuries and other medical conditions are also important in each case.

This incident in Kanpur has once again brought to the fore the need to make way for ambulances and emergency traffic management at congested intersections.
