Tractor and highway seized, caught transporting illegal minerals

Sarangarh Bilaigarh. Under the direction of Collector Dr. Fariha Alam Siddiqui, a surprise inspection of Bhatgaon and Bilaigarh area was conducted by the Mineral Department. During this time, when 03 tractors and one highway were found involved in illegal transportation in Bhatgaon area, all 04 vehicles were seized at the spot itself and handed over to the station in-charge Bhatgaon till further action.

Mineral Officer HD Bhardwaj said that this action has been taken under Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral Rules 2015 and Section 21 of the Mines and Mineral Development Act 1957. On the instructions of the Collector, action against illegal excavation, transportation and storage will be continued further. The mineral investigation team included Anurag Nand and Lakshminarayan Ghritalhare.
